Inverloch Spa
A coastal concrete pool with raised spa and Pacific blue water finish, set into an Inverloch block close to the foreshore.
THE STORY
A coastal pool with a raised spa, finished in Pacific blue.
Inverloch sits on the Bass Coast where the houses get the surf-club crowd in summer and the long-shadow quiet of the off-season for the rest of the year. The owners came to us with a brief that's common to coastal builds: a pool sized for family use, a spa for the cooler months, and a finish that holds up against salt air and sun.
We engineered the shell for the conditions Inverloch puts on a pool — sandy ground, a working water table, salt-air corrosion on equipment. The raised spa sits at coping height with a spillover into the pool below. From the deck, the spa reads as part of the architectural line rather than a separate vessel parked next to the pool.
Inside, the pool is finished in a Pacific blue water colour that picks up the colour of the bay on a clear day. The finish was chosen with the home rather than from a catalogue — the house leans soft and weathered, and the pool sits inside that palette rather than fighting it.
Equipment is corrosion-resistant and housed in a covered service area away from the salt air. The fence is frameless glass set tight to the perimeter so the deck reads continuously to the pool edge.
Completed November 2023.
