Our process
From the first sketch, to the call-outs years after.
Five stages, one team. We don't hand off your build to a chain of subcontractors you've never met. The same people who walk your block at the first consultation are the people who pour the shell, lay the tile, and come back to look after it.
Architectural concrete is a long game. Every stage decides the next.
An architectural concrete pool isn't a stock item. There's no off-the-shelf shell, no standard finish. Every job is engineered for the block it sits in, designed with the architect and home, and built to last decades on the kind of ground it sits on.
That's why the process matters. A mistake at consultation costs money at design. A mistake at design costs money at engineering. A mistake at engineering costs years off the life of the pool.
So we work it as five stages, in order, and we don't skip ahead.
FIVE STAGES
How a Bass pool goes from a brief to a build.
01
CONSULTATION
We come to you. We listen first.
We come to the block. We look at the home, the brief, the brief from the architect if there is one, and the conditions of the site that decide what the pool can be.
You'll get a straight read from us in the room. If the site can take what you want, we'll say so. If it can't, we'll tell you what it can take instead. We don't propose anything we don't believe will hold up for decades.

02
DESIGN
Drawn with the architect, around the home.
If there's an architect on the project we work with them, not against them. The pool picks up the geometry of the home, the coping carries the material family of the paving, the level reads with the deck. The architect gets the line they drew. You get a pool that looks like part of the build, not a recreation feature parked next to it.
If there's no architect, we lead the design ourselves — same principles, same care for the way the pool sits in the property.
Typically
2–4 weeks · iterative
03
ENGINEERING & APPROVALS
The shell, engineered for the ground.
The shell is the part you never see and the part that has to last. On a coastal block, that means engineering for sandy ground, a moving water table, and salt air. On a hinterland block, it means stable ground and a wider context that doesn't end at a fence. Every shell gets engineered for the conditions it sits in — not to a template.
We carry council approvals, permits, and engineering documents through this stage. One point of contact, not five.
Typically
4–8 weeks · permits + engineering
04
BUILD
One team, on site, from excavation to fill.
Excavation, steel, shell, plumbing, equipment, tile, coping, fence, fill. We carry the build with the same team from start to finish. The site stays clean. The neighbours stay informed. The schedule we gave you is the schedule we work to.
You'll know who's on site every week. The site supervisor is the person on the phone with you, not a project-manager middle layer.
Typically
3–6 months · site dependent
05
HANDOVER & CARE
We come back. Years later. As often as you need.
The day the pool is filled is the start of our relationship with the build, not the end of it. We hand over with a walkthrough on the equipment, the tile, the filtration and the heating. You'll know how everything works.
Then we come back. Servicing, equipment changes, spa additions, eventual resurfacing. A pool built properly should last decades, and we look after Bass pools across that whole life. We also service pools we didn't build.
